My First Week making a food lifestyle change: A Journey of Ease and Satisfaction

Embarking on a healthy lifestyle and way of eating can often be a daunting experience, filled with uncertainty and the fear of hunger pangs. However, my first week of making this lifestyle change has been a delightful surprise (no shocker there since I tried it before), proving not only to be incredibly easy but also satisfying to my taste buds and hunger needs.

The Simplicity of YES and NO Lists

One of the most appealing aspects of this lifestyle change is its straightforward approach, particularly the adoption of YES and NO lists for my diet. These lists have been a lifesaver, simplifying my dietary choices and removing the guesswork from meal planning. With clear guidelines on what foods to embrace and which to avoid, I found myself confidently navigating through my meals and snacks without any second-guessing.

No Hunger, Just Timely Nourishment

Contrary to my initial worries about feeling starved, hunger was never an issue during this week. This new approach encourages eating every three hours based on hunger cues, and it was liberating to know that if I felt hungry earlier, it was perfectly okay to eat. This flexibility allowed me to listen to my body's needs and eat accordingly, creating a harmonious balance between following the diet and respecting my body's natural hunger signals.

A Week of Delicious and Nutritious Eating

Diving into the specifics, my diet this week was anything but bland. I indulged in a variety of foods, each offering a burst of flavor and nutrition. Here’s a snapshot:

Taco Soup: This was a star in my meal plan. Packed with flavors and fitting perfectly within the diet's guidelines, it was both comforting and satisfying.

Hard Boiled Eggs: A staple in my diet, they were an easy, protein-rich snack that I could grab and go.

Protein Shakes: These were a game-changer. Depending on the day, I blended them with cottage cheese, ice, and either water or coconut milk. The versatility in flavors kept the experience fresh and enjoyable.

Almonds and Pistachios: Mindful of keeping it to a quarter cup a day, these nuts were my go-to for a quick, healthy snack.

Pickles and Radishes: These added a nice crunch and zest to my meals, keeping things interesting.

High Protein Yogurt: Discovering a yogurt with 25 grams of protein and only 3 grams of sugar was a highlight. It’s not only super yummy but also aligns perfectly with my diet needs.

Looking Forward with Excitement

As I conclude my first week, I'm filled with anticipation for the days ahead. This has been a journey of discovery, from understanding my body's hunger signals to enjoying a range of delicious foods that align with my health goals. There’s a sense of accomplishment in adhering to the diet’s guidelines while still enjoying my meals.

The Next Phase: Reintroducing Foods

With one more week in the reset phase, I’m already contemplating the reintroduction of up to three items from the NO list. I’m leaning towards beans or maybe even sweet potatoes. The thought of adding these foods back into my diet is exciting, and I'm curious to see how my body responds.

It's NOT a diet, it's a lifestyle!

In retrospect, the first week of this lifestyle change was an eye-opening experience. It's shown me that it doesn't have to be about restrictions and hunger. Instead, it can be a fulfilling journey of nutritious, delicious eating, and learning to understand and respect your body’s needs. This isn't a diet; it's a lifestyle change that I am wholeheartedly embracing.

As I continue this path, I am eager to see the transformations not just in my body, but in my approach to food and health. This lifestyle change has made an excellent start, and I am optimistic about the weeks to come. Stay tuned for more updates as I navigate this exciting journey! Here's to week 2!
